Virginia Johnson Jordan


Virginia Johnson Jordan, age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was a resident of Albany, LA. Virginia was a true Christian woman who loved Jesus and loved people. She dedicated many years to J&M Industries and finished out her career as a Supervisor. Virginia had a devoted passion to quilting and crafting. She was truly talented and she made a quilt for all of her loved ones and more than a few friends. Virginia was happiest surrounded by her family and could just sit back and listen to the laughter and chatter for hours. She never missed an opportunity to spoil her grandbabies and great-grandbabies and made sure they knew MawMaw Jenny loved them. Virginia was a wonderful mother, incredible grandmother, and a blessing to all who knew her. She will be forever missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Melinda Jordan, Sheila Jordan, Carole Tully (Stuart); son, Christopher John Jordan; sister, Edith Dixon (Steve); grandchildren, Kristina Bankston (John), Daniel Collins, Jennifer Hendon, Scott Hendon, Kimberly Collins, Skyler Koon, Cameron Koon, James Lane Province, Kaydence Trotnic, Benjamin Tully; and great-grandchildren, Brenley Bankston, Samuel Bankston, Cayden Collins, and Carson Collins.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Jordan; son, James Province; parents, Gracie Patterson Johnson and Walter “Rank” Johnson; brothers, David Johnson, Darrell Johnson; and sisters, Alline Albin, Shirley Roberts, Myreal Davidson, and Billie Payne. 

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Hwy 190 W. Hammond, LA 70401, on Sunday, October 9, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Sarah Morgan and Mr. Jackie Coyne will officiate with interment to follow in Woodhaven Church of God Cemetery.
