My name is Kali Nanney, and I am 23 years old. I graduated from Mississippi State University in May 2019 with my BBA in Marketing. I attend Wheeler United Methodist Church in Wheeler, MS and enjoy spending time with friends & family, reading, and working to grow my business even in my free time.
My mother is Nan Nanney, the city clerk of Baldwyn, and my father is Eric Nanney, who owns multiple small businesses of his own. My sister, Chloe, is a junior at Mississippi State University. They are always the first to hear of my new ideas and always the first to help if I need it! Majority of the time, my sister is at my shop helping me!
I officially launched Kaligraphy LLC as a business on October 7, 2019. From an early age, I’ve always loved anything dealing with “pretty letters” and design. The summer before my junior year in college I started to sell hand-made wood signs. What started as a hobby making wood signs for local people three years ago has turned into a business making signs for people all over the country. Other than wood signs I design my own T-shirt’s, stationary, phone cases, stickers and more. I’ve also recently started doing social media for MAGS Boutique in downtown Baldwyn as well! This business is growing every day, and I love that I have multiple services to offer. I’m so glad to have my workshop in the town I grew up in surrounded by my family and friends. Baldwyn is so intentional on making sure all small businesses are set up to succeed! The local support from the community is unmatched and I’m proud to be a part of this small town!
“Kali’s talents are amazing,” said Baldwyn Main Street Chamber Director Lori Tucker. “She has a heart of gold when it comes to community involvement. We, the chamber, have been blessed to collaborate with her on many event projects and she continues to go above and beyond. Young entrepreneurs like Kali are the future of our local business district. We are expecting big things from her as she grows her business.”
