Baldwyn School recently celebrated students in grades fourth through twelfth who made achievements in last school year’s (2018-19) state testing areas.
Students were recognized for scoring advanced, proficient, and/or showing growth in ELA, math, and/or science. High school students were recognized for showing growth, proficiency, and/or advancement on state tests in all four subject areas including Algebra I, Biology I, English II, and U.S. History.
These students were awarded and recognized during the last two weeks’ home Bearcat Basketball games. Students who earned perfect scores on their MAAP testing also received plaques. All students received a free admission ticket to the basketball game. A total of 317 students were eligible for recognition across the district.
Students who earned a perfect score in their state tested subject also received a plaque for their achievement which included Leighanna Allen (4th), Kmauryen Johnson (5th), Layla Kelly (5th), Ridge Mask (4th), Alyson McCarthy (5th), Madelyn Moss (5th), A’Keileonna Nichols (5th), Hunter Dobbs (6th), Karlyn Courtney (7th), Anden Earnest (7th), Macy Murphy (7th), Grady Allen (8th), Lillian Floyd (8th), Gentry Griffin (8th), Hayley Moss (8th), Nathan George (9th), John Turner (9th), and Jackson Allen (9th). “We want to take every opportunity we can to recognize the hard work and achievement of our students, our staff, and the community’s support in making sure every child has a chance to succeed in academics at Baldwyn Schools,” Superintendent Jason McKay said.
