Chipping in For Missions two-person scramble is set for May 23.

Area golfers interested in hitting the greens and helping further missions work locally and around the world have a chance to do so this month at Big Oaks Golf Club in Tupelo.

Belden Baptist Church is sponsoring its annual Chipping In For Missions charity golf classic on Thursday, May 23. Pre-registration is going on now at the event’s website, www.chippingin4missions.org. Registration for two-person scramble teams is $100 per person, and pre-registering by May 9 brings a bonus of free mulligans. Registration includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, range balls, goodie bag and a dinner meal. Registration fees do not have to be paid until the day of the event, but pre-registration will help organizers plan for contest prizes, goodie bags and more.

Check-in for the tournament will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The event will include several contests, including longest drive, straight drive, closest to the pin, putting contest, hole-in-one contest and more. Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third-place finishers.

The church is also continuing to accept sponsorships for various contests, and donations and sponsorships are tax-deductible. Proceeds from the event will be used by the church for missions work.

For more information, to pre-register to participate, or to help sponsor the event go the tournament website or call organizers Phil Willis (662-397-0442) or Chris Terry (662-523-2117).
