The Baldwyn Anne Spencer Cox Library has many events going on this week and next week. This week is National Library Week and Librarian Simone Chandlier is celebrating in multiple ways.
National Library Week is celebrated annually highlighting the valuable role of libraries and librarians in transforming communities in their public service.
“We are excited to celebrate our community and what makes us strong. Please stop by each day and help us celebrate,” Chandlier said.
On Monday the library celebrated First Responders = Strong Communities. Baldwyn Police and Firefighters were on hand to tour their vehicles and equipment and to speak to them. Wednesday was Caring for Our Seniors = Strong Communities. Guests from the local nursing homes helped to celebrate. Tomorrow (Friday) will be Caring for Our Children = Strong Communities. There will be story time with an Easter Egg Hunt to follow from 3 -5 p.m. The community is invited to attend. There will be prizes and free books on site for children.

The following week on April 16-17 the Baldwyn Anne Spencer Cox Library will be closed for upgrades. This week circulation of books will be limited due to upgrades underway. Public computer use of faxing, copying, and printing will continue as normal.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but we are looking forward to able to better serve our library patrons with this new software. The library staff asks for your patience and understanding at this time,” Chandlier said.
