Two injured in Hwy. 45 collision

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is still investigating a two vehicle crash that sent two people to the hospital.

Troopers responded to US 45, near County Road 6011, at approximately 2:40 p.m., Friday afternoon. Upon arriving it appeared that Amber McGee , 26, of Baldwyn, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, and attempted to turn onto US 45 off of County Road 6011 when she pulled into the path of a south bound 1999 Gmc Pickup, driven by Austin Burns, 28, of Guntown, MS.

McGee was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo with life threatening injuries.

Burns was transported by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital Booneville with moderate injuries.

McGee was not wearing a seatbelt.
