The armed robbery of a gas station in Baldwyn was the second such crime in town this month.
On Sunday around 8:55 p.m., Baldwyn Police officers responded to an armed robbery at Chevron gas station on Fourth Street.
The suspect was reported to be a black male in his mid to late 20’s. He is on video surveillance using a gun as force to take cash from behind the counter. The amount of cash is undetermined at this time.
This armed robbery is the second case within 10 days of a similar armed robbery at Money Matters during the later afternoon hours near closing time. Both incidents have provided authorities with video surveillance; however, no one has identified either suspect. Authorities are considering a link between the two armed robberies with the same possible suspect.
“We are asking the community to please be careful and be vigilant, especially during late and closing hours of businesses,” Baldwyn Police Chief Troy Agnew said.
“Please be vigilant of the customers and traffic coming in and out of your business also. If you plan to count money, please make sure you have locked the doors and it’s after closing. Don’t hesitate to call our office at 365-1047 to report any suspicious behavior. Call 911 for all emergencies.”
