The event takes place at the community center, with a free hot meal for those in need to follow.

Area residents who are truly in need are encouraged to attend Saturday’s annual clothing giveaway at the Saltillo Community Center. The event is sponsored by First Baptist Church of Saltillo.

A wide variety of clothing, everything from infant to adult sizes, will be available at the giveaway. It takes place Sat., Aug. 27, from 8-11 a.m.

In conjunction with the clothing giveaway, the church is sponsoring a free hot meal to those in need at the Freedom Community Mission Center. The meal, part of the church’s FREEdom Café outreach, will be hosted at the mission center at 252 Third Street in Saltillo, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

According to event organizer Cindy Buzan, the church has been able to help hundreds of area residents through the years with the clothing drive. The church has routinely seen from 200 to 400 people attend the event.
