Students received backpacks with school supplies donated by the church during the event.
Members of Mt. Nebo C.M.E. church made sure every student attending the church’s annual Back-to-School Bash has supplies needed for this school year and a whole lot of fun as well.
Students enjoyed the fourth-annual gathering on Sat., Aug. 13, which was filled with fun, entertainment, lunch, snacks and more. The festivities began at 4 p.m. and continued late into the evening. Entertainment for the evening was highlighted by guest singer, Jekalyn Carr, an American urban contemporary gospel artist and musician, evangelist, and entrepreneur.
“I am thrilled to be here to share the blessings God has placed in my life,” Carr said. “Jesus has great things in store for Mt. Nebo and to see how God is working in their lives, especially the young men and women, absolutely proves the Holy Spirit is real!”
Students enjoyed playing on the slip & slide, bouncy house, eating snow cones and popcorn, playing games, throwing water balloons and more.
Devotionals were shared throughout the day along with musical entertainment, dance and praise.
Mt. Nebo C.M.E Church is known to give back to the community throughout the year with events to help the young, elderly, homeless, widowed, single mothers and more.
“We love our community and strive to reach others through God’s Word, spreading joy and giving to others,” said Pastor Jonathan Bass. “I invite everyone to come out to Mt. Nebo to experience God’s presence in our church.”
